Frequently Asked Questions

Quick answers to common questions about DisputeQ.

Is DisputeQ legal advice?

No. DisputeQ provides dispute resolution guidance, not legal advice. We help you build your case, communicate your position, and generate template letters — but we are not lawyers. For complex legal matters, consult a licensed attorney in your state.

What types of disputes does DisputeQ handle?

DisputeQ is designed for billing disputes, landlord-tenant issues, and service contract conflicts. It works best for situations where you've been wronged by a company or individual and want to communicate your position clearly and professionally before escalating.

How does the AI letter generation work?

After you describe your dispute, you select a tone (firm, neutral, or diplomatic) and our AI generates a professionally-worded demand letter. You can edit the letter, regenerate it with a different tone, or finalize it for use. The letter is yours to send as you see fit.

Will DisputeQ send the letter for me?

Not yet. Currently, you download or copy your generated letter and send it yourself. We're working on direct delivery options in a future update.

Is my information kept private?

Yes. Your dispute details are encrypted and never shared with the opposing party or any third party without your consent. Read our Privacy Policy for full details on how we handle your data.

Does using DisputeQ create an attorney-client relationship?

No. Using DisputeQ does not create any attorney-client, lawyer-client, or similar professional relationship. We are a general guidance and document tool — not a law firm.

What if my dispute doesn't resolve?

DisputeQ doesn't guarantee outcomes — no tool can. Many disputes resolve after one or two rounds of communication. If your dispute doesn't resolve, you may want to consult a lawyer or explore small claims court. We also recommend documenting every step of your communication in the Resolution Tracker.

How do I track my dispute's progress?

After submitting a dispute, use the Resolution Tracker to log follow-ups, responses, and settlement conversations. This keeps you organized and gives you a clear timeline if you ever need to escalate to a lawyer or court.

Is DisputeQ available outside the US?

DisputeQ is currently designed for US users. Dispute resolution processes vary by country and state. If you're outside the US, consult a local attorney for guidance on your specific situation.
